The IN Dunes chapter is privileged to present Notre Dame’s Assistant Professor of Physics and NASA’s award winner of the Early Career Fellowship-study of “Origins of the Solar System,” for our Saturday night banquet speaker. Dr. Crepp has discovered or been a part of the discovery of more than eighty exoplanets, planets that are outside of our solar system!
Dr. Crepp is heading a three year project to design and build the world’s 1st diffraction-limited Doppler spectrometer, an instrument named ‘iLocater,’ which will record precise measurements of nearby stars with the potential of identifying additional planets. The use of high-tech telescopes in Hawaii, Arizona and Chili, to name a few, are being commissioned.
